The AIB Leinster LGFA Club Championships are reaching dramatic stages with the Senior Championship Quarter Finals down for decision on Sunday and the Intermediate and Junior final four deciders down for decision on Saturday.
On Saturday, Longford’s Killoe will face Kildare’s Balyna at 1pm in Emmet Park in the first of the Intermediate Semi-finals. Then at 2pm in Naomh Martin, St Fechins of Louth will take on Meath champions Skryne. The winners of both games will face each other in the final on November 8th.
Also on Saturday, Kilkenny’s Muckalee will welcome Louth’s St. Mochtas to Muckalee for a 1pm throw in in the deferred Junior quarter final, with Raheny awaiting the winners next weekend in the semi final. In the second semi final, Meath’s St. Colmcilles will face Laois’ Killeshin at 2pm in St. Colmcilles GAA. The final will take place on November 8th.
On Sunday, the focus switches to the Senior Club Championships. Reigning champions Kilmacud Crokes saw off a talented Longford Slashers side last Sunday. The four time Dublin Senior Champions are through to the quarter finals where they’ll face Laois champions Portlaoise, in Páirc de Burca. Portlaoise recently regained the Laois SFC title they relinquished last season. Both sides will be eager to secure a semi-final berth.
Carlow’s Old Leighlin Senior team will face eleven time Wicklow SFC champions, Tinahely, in Molaise Park. Old Leighlin had two teams competing in this year’s Leinster Club Championship. Their junior side were crowned Carlow Junior champions this season and were defeated by St. Colmcilles in the quarter finals. Old Leighlin and Tinahely both have proud traditions in the Leinster Club Championship in recent seasons and will be eager to book a spot in the semi finals.
First time Kildare SFC champions, St. Laurences, will face Westmeath champions Milltown. Milltown regained their Westmeath SFC crown last Sunday when they had two points to spare over reigning champions St. Lomans. St. Laurences defeated last year’s Leinster club finalists, Eadestown, in their Kildare SFC decider, so Milltown will know they will have to be at their best to overcome the Lilies.
The final quarter final pits Meath champions Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels against Offaly’s Ballinamere Durrow! Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels secured their third successive Meath SFC crown when they accounted for neighbours St. Peter’s Dunboyne and were knocked out in their first game in last year’s Leinster competition. They will want to go steps further this season, but a fierce Ballinamere Durrow stand in their way. The Offaly challengers overcame Naomh Ciarán in the Offaly SFC final and will relish an opportunity to take on the Royals.
Tickets are on sale now (adults €10, OAP and student €5, those u16 are free and do not require a ticket) and are available at the respective links below. All games are at 2pm unless stated.
