Leinster LGFA Announcement: Re Fixtures
Leinster LGFA Announcement: Re Fixtures
March 25, 2020
A Chairde,
Leinster LGFA, with regret, are announcing the following in respect of our fixtures which had been planned for 2020. In making these decisions we are mindful of the ongoing Coronavirus crisis and feel it prudent to let all our Leinster members - players, coaches, mentors and officials know our current plans as early as possible.
Under 12 Blitzes -
Our first Under 12 blitz scheduled for June is cancelled for 2020 with a decision on the staging of our second Under 12 September Blitz deferred.
Leinster Under 14 Championship cancelled for 2020.
Leinster Under 16 Championship - decision deferred until later in the year and depending on Government and HSE advice.
Leinster Under 18 Championship - decision deferred until later in the year and depending on Government and HSE advice.
All Development squads at all levels cancelled for 2020.
Leinster Junior Championship - decision deferred until mid-May and dependent on Government and HSE advice.
Leinster Intermediate Championship - decision deferred until mid-May and dependent on Government and HSE advice.
A decision on the Leinster Club Championship and the 2021 Schools competitions which commence in Sept/October 2020 will be made later in the year. They will be made with the best interests of our players, teachers, coaches and mentors in mind and following advice from the Government and the HSE.
Regarding Development matters, we are deferring the initiatives contained within the Leinster Development plan until such time as normality has returned.
We would be delighted to hear from adults but particular our young folk to send us any ideas to alleviate boredom on our social media - just message our Facebook page Leinster Ladies Football.
We hope that each of you stay safe and heeds the Government and HSE advice so that we can return to normality soon. This means a particular emphasis on hand washing, physically distance yourselves from others and greeting with a wave rather than a handshake. In this way, we will protect ourselves and those we love.
Take care.
Dominic Leech
Leinster LGFA President
on behalf of the Leinster LGFA Management Committee
